Project 3: Color Wheel

This is prep work before I start shooting and editing for project 3.

Color Wheel:

Cool Colors Example:

Zak Noyle

I have always been intrigued by wave photography.  Zak Noyle used multiple shades of cool colors, which make the photo very smooth and calm to the eye.  The colors also create a whimsy and relaxing mood.  The sun causes the water at the top to be very light blue, and the blue gets darker towards the bottom of the photograph.  The photo probably had these natural shades of blue, but it looks like he emphasized the dark blue through editing to create a stronger contrasts between the different shades of blue.  It also looks like he added a little more saturation, and added a dark blue border around the image.  This is an inspiring photograph and a great example of cool colors.

Project 2 Framing

Project 2:  Framing

For project 2, I took photos around Portland using eight different framing techniques.  I then chose 3-5 photos that best fit each technique.  After that, I narrowed down my photos to the best 1-2 shots of each technique and made multiple edits of them.  The final step was to post my final edits (one of each framing technique) and my contact sheet to this blog.  This project forced me to re-asses how I frame my photos, which was challenging and fun.  All edits done in Light Room.

The contact sheet shows my editing process.
